Athena Social Work Services has a proven track record of supporting local authorities to maintain compliance with their duties under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, related guidance and in line with Making Safeguarding Personal.
Safeguarding Enquiries
Athena Social Work Services has completed complex safeguarding enquiries ensuring compliance with local policies and procedures. We also work to the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal (ADASS) by ensuring the adult at risk of abuse or neglect remains at the centre of decision making throughout the safeguarding process. As part of this process risk and mental capacity are taken into account and assessed and recorded accordingly.
Safeguarding Audit
Athena Social Work Services can provide one off or ongoing audit of safeguarding enquiries providing assurance to the local authority and the Safeguarding Adults Board of compliance to its statutory duties under the Care Act 2014. In addition to the audit we can provide ongoing feedback, support and training to individual workers and teams to improve the quality of their safeguarding practice ensuring that actions and recordings are defendable.
Single Agency Management Reviews
Athena Social Work Services has been commissioned to carry out independent reviews for local authorities where an adult may have died or come to significant harm and where there may be lessons for the local authority to be learned. Athena Social Work Services can develop and deliver related training to staff teams.
